The mineworkers union, AMCU, has threatened to embark on strike action if Anglo America Platinum goes ahead with plans to shutdown four shafts in the Rustenburg region. A total of up to 14 thousand jobs will be lost of which 13 thousand will be in the Rustenberg area. Chris Jacobs of OIM International talks about the latest developments in the local mining sector.
