Kosie Lombard

Over the years Kosie Lombard has built a solid track record in organisational development and employee engagement interventions across industries and several countries. Since joining OIM in 1987 he has consulted widely in strategic planning, organisational structuring, employee engagement, conflict resolution, industrial relations, leadership development, performance improvement and general HR services. He has also been actively involved in OIM’s product development and community projects.

Work experience

Kosie joined the Ford Motor Company in 1978 as personnel officer. Shortly afterwards he accepted the position of personnel manager at Farmers’ Brokers Co-op and spent the next seven years overseeing the development and implementation of effective personnel policies, systems, procedures, training and development, industrial relations, organisational development, compensation and HR administration. In 1985 he was appointed labour relations manager at Sasol Three where he was involved in union negotiations, the development and presentation of training programmes and managing and administering internal communication systems.

At OIM

Kosie joined OIM in 1987 as an associate and became a director a year later. He has been involved in most of OIM’s training and consulting services in a range of companies and industries in South Africa, Western and Southern Africa, Australia and the USA. These services included strategic planning, organisational structuring, leadership development, conflict resolution, industrial relations and performance improvement processes in the chemical, manufacturing, construction, logistics, mining, timber, food, wine and spirits and service industries. As head of OIM’s product development for many years Kosie has played a major role in the continuous updating and professionalising of the Climate Creation Workshop material, INVOCOM® Skills manuals, training process for internal trainers and development of support material such as DVDs. He has also been actively involved in several OIM community projects.
